Since we have now been in Germany for a week, it was time to do some laundry. We had quite the pile growing on our hotel room floor, so today I bit the bullet and embarked on the wonderful world of doing laundry, in a hotel, in a foreign country.

I am not very detail oriented when it comes to doing laundry, I just want to get it done without any major damage/shrinkage. Considering I could not read any of the words on this machine besides jeans, this task was a bit more complicated than I am used to! I had to bring my computer down to the laundry room and use a translator to translate each word on the dial in order to understand the best setting to use. I also did a little searching online and found some good explanations of what settings to use for what purposes. I settled on schranktrocken which translates to "cupboard dry" (whatever that means). Basically it is the closest thing to getting dry clothes without completely cooking them to death at a high temperature. Hopefully, everything comes out okay!

Wow, what an adventure. That reminds me of when I had to sit on the side of the road and translate the Greek alphabet so that I could read a map to find my destination. The modeling agency gave the American girls the addresses in English---very thoughtful, but our map and street signs were obviously in Greek. Lucky for the other girls I was the only nerd traveling with an extra 10 lbs of Greek language and tourist books.
