A few tidbits about Germany

There are separate sides of the sidewalk for walkers and bikers.

These recycling containers can be found around town for sorting difference colored glass.
Himbeerschnitte is good!
What I have learned about women's habits regarding their bras so far:
- It is okay to wear a dark colored/black/patterned bra underneath a sheer/white top.
- Is is okay to wear a shirt that reveals a good portion of your bra.
- Is is okay to just not wear a bra.
Today we woke up early to meet with Barbara to take care of a few logistics. We started at the town hall to get my temporary work permit and tax card. John and I both had to get photos taken for some of our documents. There were lots of rules, one of which was don't smile.... I think we know what our mug shots would look like!

We also went to the bank and opened a bank account, met with the insurance representative at adidas, and saw another apartment. After seeing another place today, we decided we really want the one we saw on Saturday. The one today had a curved staircase with no elevator (I had a hard time picturing myself lugging my little grocery cart up those stairs...). It was quite close to one of those fantasy type shops, and had stairs in the bathroom (definitely a safety hazard for the likes of me!). We have been a little hesitant to go for the first place because we are afraid we will come across something we like better and it is not exactly huge, but there are a lot of great aspects about it and every time I see a place that I clearly don't like, I want the nicer (newer) place that much more. Hopefully Barbara can get in touch with the landlord and we can move ahead. Pics will be posted once we know for sure we can get it!

Those are some pretty serious pictures! Hope everything works out with the apartment!
I really like John, but yeah, total mug shot. LOL
Your picture on the other hand, gorgeous. Even without a smile. Truly Katie.
And did you have to post a pic of that Himbeerschnitte? Seriously craving it now.
So fun to keep up on all the fun in Germany!
It sounds like you are getting a lot done so far! How are you liking it?
It's definitely an adventure ;)
