I finally received our air freight shipment today! This enormously beefy, bulky, muscular German man showed up to deliver the boxes and single handedly heaved each 90-100 pound box up on his shoulder in order to bring it to the elevator and up to our room. He unpacked each and every item and handed them to me, one at a time. I took everything into the room, where there was already no extra space and proceeded to pretty much pile everything on the bed.
What a mess!
I am grateful to have our own bedding and towels, but we ended up with too much stuff! September 15 cannot come soon enough!
Most of all I was thrilled to be reunited with Bo.
John gave me this bear on Valentine's Day when we were juniors at Villanova. I think I have slept with him almost every night since (with the exception of a few vacations/trips to CT). You may think that it's silly for a 27 year old woman to sleep with a teddy bear, but I love him and I don't care. John decided it would be a good idea to put him in his tennis bag and send him in one of our air freight boxes, so I have been missing him ever since, especially since John left for NYC. Now we are together again and I have a snuggle buddy until John comes back.
I also got this handy dandy cart for grocery shopping which I used for the first time today. I kind of wish the handle was a little longer, but it was much easier to bring the groceries home today than it has been when I have had to carry heavy bags. I am not using the car at all, so I have been walking to get groceries and carrying everything back to the hotel. I also brought my glass to the big glass recycling containers for the first time today and returned my plastic bottles to the store for the refund for the first time today. I didn't have that many bottles, but I got a ticket for 2.40 that went towards my purchase.
After a bit of organizing and shuffling, I at least got the bed cleared off and put our duvet and pillows on it. I am so happy to have our body pillows back! I don't understand how hotels expect people to sleep with 1 pillow! Who does that? I need at least 2-3! It probably doesn't look much different than a typical hotel bed, but in Germany there are actually two twin size beds pushed together and each person gets their own twin size blanket. Now we at least have one large blanket and our own fluffy, wonderful pillows! I have the feeling I am going to sleep LATE tomorrow.
Now, I have the rest of the day to relax and think about what my #6 will be. My new teacher friends invited me to come to the city center with them for some shopping, but I needed to stay at the hotel to sign for my boxes, so I was not able to join them. I might take a walk to visit those wild hogs again, this time with a working camera, so I can post some pictures! I am going to try and take a video because the sound effects definitely add to the hilarity of it. It is pretty windy today, but pretty nice.

Although our space is larger than a hotel room---I feel your pain. I too am counting the days until we move. It's been a long 2.5 years and I'm ready to have some square footage again!
PS
We totally recognize the bear from our trips to Miami!
