#6

I finished up my 6 in six with a nice walk downtown to the mall. I have visited the Erlangen Arcaden before, but hadn't walked all the way from the hotel by myself (and given my poor sense of direction that could actually be quite a challenge!) I made it without getting lost and spent a few hours shopping and walking around the downtown area. I used the geldautomat (ATM) for the first time as well because before I was just putting my hand out and getting money from the bank of John. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from our hotel to the downtown area and it can be done in a pretty straight shot, which is why I was able to do it without getting lost. Along with many stores, the mall also contains quite a few restaurants, a few bakeries, and a deli of sorts where you can purchase meat. I am not too sure I would want to get meat from the mall, but hey, at least it's an option! You never know when a meat craving will strike right in the middle of shopping I guess.

John comes back tomorrow afternoon (YAYYYYYYYY!). Can you tell I am super excited about that? I definitely think it's a good thing when I am challenged to figure things out on my own, but I miss my husband and I am glad he will be home!

Tonight I am going to hit the gym for the first time for a workout. I was told by one of the teachers that you can select English as a language choice on the cardio equipment, so that is good, but I am sure it will take a bit of adjusting to get used to lifting kilos instead of pounds. I didn't get the membership that includes classes because I want to learn a little bit more German before I embark on fitness classes taught in German, but I think eventually I can handle pilates or yoga (because they are so slow and I can at least follow along even if I don't understand the directions).
