Today we were busy for the better part of the day running errands. We started out at Obi, which is a store kind of like Home Depot. We got a trash can with three separate bins because we have to sort trash here into plastics, papers, and biological waste. This set up makes it pretty convenient to keep those different kinds of trash separate.
You know what I'll be doing as soon as my label maker arrives with our shipment!
We also got a drying rack for drying some of our clothes. Despite being adamant that we could never live without a dryer like many Germans do, I have jumped (somewhat) on the air drying bandwagon, so we got a rack that fits nicely in the tub. We have both a shower and a tub, but since we both always take showers, the tub's use will be allocated for other purposes now. Since we have a guest toilet, our unmentionables can dry in the privacy of the main bathroom!
Next, we were off to the Toyota dealership trying to purchase the European navigation CD, but we didn't have luck with that because the parts department is not there on Saturday.
After that, we hit up the PC Neudecker store to get some devices that would allow us to not have a cord running from one end of the living room to the other to connect the router. John got it all hooked up and is now satisfied with our Internet situation. We actually brought over his laptop and set up the air mattress so we can hang out in our empty place because the speed of the Internet is so much better for watching our Slingbox than it is in our hotel room. We enjoyed a pause free Grey's Anatomy last night and some other shows today.
Then we hit up Ikea and Höffner after that. Höffner is a big store with furniture, appliances, and lots of kitchen stuff. We purchased a vacuum and John's favorite lunch called the Döner. It is lamb meat with some tzatziki dressing, lettuce, onion, & tomato. They sell these all over the place, but this one was the best we have had. It was HUGE.
Finally, we did our weekly Saturday grocery shopping which included these purchases:
It's actually more cost effective to get beer in this large quantity. We have also found that often at restaurants it is cheaper to buy a beer with dinner than it is to buy water!
I had to get this when I saw it....
It's just like a juice box, but it's wine!
I can't even drink wine, but I had to have it. So funny!
After all those errands, we went back to the apartment and relaxed in front of the computer (TV) for awhile then came back to the hotel for some dinner. We got a lot done and it was a successful day even though John probably wishes we spent the day in Münich drinking beer, eating pretzels, and wearing Lederhosen....

We are very excited about our move too. Some of our things we have not seen in three years. Should be interesting. Keep me posted on your move. We can compare notes or blogs!
