Today I had my second quilting lesson with Lucinda and made the first block of my quilt! It looks a little bit Christmas-ish, but there are other fabrics (much cuter fabrics) that will bring the whole look together.
I think this was literally the very first time I ever used a sewing machine, but it was a success! Lucinda is a really good teacher because by the end of the session, I was doing it completely on my own without relying too much on her.
Can you see my German word list peeking out from under the block.
Next week I will make another copy of the same block (hopefully without much help). Lucinda recommended that I get the cutting tools so that I can cut on my own time at home and then just sew when I am with her. I can't wait to see a few blocks together because it's really hard for me to picture anything unless I actually see it in front of me.
