Oregon Coast

Yesterday morning we headed down to the Oregon Coast for a night away. Sharing Spree did an offer for a special rate at the Salishan Golf and Spa Resort, so we booked a night using the points that my student's dad had gifted me last year. We upgraded to a Deluxe room so we'd have enough room for all the baby gear, which cost $30 and ended up only spending $109 for the room and two room service meals. Not bad. We left around 10:00 and Grace was a good little traveler. She slept the whole drive there which took about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

When we arrived at the hotel we were able to check in early so we lugged all our baby gear up to the room and fed Grace. Then we headed down to the deli for some lunch and Grace fell asleep in the stroller while we checked out the little shops and ate ice cream.

Traveling with the Pack N Play made it very easy to set up Grace's sleeping quarters.

She did another afternoon nap in her bed.

After several vacations together, John and I have discovered we really like to just relax and lay low when we go away. So that is just what we did. We put on the plush hotel robes and just hung out. Grace didn't want to be left out so she wore her little terry cloth robe too. So cute!

We decided to make life really easy and just order in for dinner since our hotel stay came with a $25 credit for the hotel restaurant. We got some clam chowder, crab cakes, and a fruit platter. Room service is not something we usually splurge on, but it made it much easier to put Grace to bed on time and accommodated our laziness!

After Grace went to sleep, John watched some golf and I enjoyed the third installment of 50 Shades of Grey. No, we didn't really get out to explore, but we enjoyed ourselves a lot!

This morning we ordered breakfast and after eating we packed up and headed out. John wanted to stop by the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum which was right on the way home. He was very fascinated by the Spruce Goose and taught Grace and me all about it.

Grace was riveted.

John's enthusiasm for Spruce Goose was contagious and it was pretty interesting to read about...

First time using a changing station in a public bathroom

We had lunch at the Space Museum and then headed home. Next time we go to the coast we'll probably stay somewhere closer to the actual beach, but our little Sharing Spree weekend was fun.

I think John had a great first Father's Day.

But his favorite part was these...
