Revising the Plan

I had my 38 week checkup today and got results from my most recent blood draw. My platelets have actually increased from 128 to 130 and now to 154 which is in the normal range. I was under the impression that we would move forward with the induction plan regardless of the increase, but Dr. Lohr actually said that if the number remains steady, she doesn't feel like an induction next week is completely necessary.

So, the new plan is to get blood drawn again early on Tuesday morning then speak with her on Tuesday afternoon to get the results and decide whether or not to induce. If the platelet level has dropped, it's probably best to move forward with the plan to induce on Wednesday which means a midnight hospital check-in. If the platelet level is stable, then she said it is up to me whether or not I want to get induced and she is completely comfortable waiting. If I decide to wait, I will see her on Wednesday for a 39 week checkup rather than in L&D.

Part of me feels like since I am stopping working early due to the schedule induction and since we've been planning on that for a week now I should just go with that plan, but part of me really wants to go into labor on my own and not have to go through an induction again this time around. I guess we will just have to wait and see what my platelet level tells us on Tuesday.
