Wow, normally we aren't this busy on the weekends!
Friday night we met up with some friends from adidas at Bar Nürnberg for some cocktails. It was a pretty small place that did not offer any food, so after chatting for awhile we decided that we needed to find something to eat!
We walked down the street to a restaurant called Cubano for a nice Mexican dinner. We still have not found authentic tasting Mexican food here in Germany that matches anything from the US, but this meal was probably the best Mexican we have had thus far. I got a dish called the Rollo con Pollo which was something stuffed with chicken and vegetables. John got Pollo Havana or something like that and his was really good too. Chicken topped with black beans and a side of rice and beans. I didn't bring the camera, so I don't have any pics to share!
After dinner, which ended around 9:30 or so, our friends said they were planning on going to see Alice in Wonderland in 3-D, so we joined them for the show. It didn't start until 10:45 or so (after 20 minutes of previews in German....fun times), so needless to say there were a few "naps" taken during the movie. We both really liked it, but it was hard to stay awake. We agreed that it was better than Avatar and the 3-D effects were definitely superior to what was done in Avatar. After the movie we headed home in the snow that had started falling.
On Saturday John woke up bright and early for a 7:30 am haircut appointment, then he returned home and went back to bed for a good 4 hours. He drove me to get my hair done in the afternoon and did some work in the office during the 2.5 hours it took to turn my hair from bad back to blonde. The woman who does my hair was recommended by a friend and she "invited" me to come to her house this time, which means it costs a lot less. She lives in Herzo right near adidas, so I was able to convince John to drive me because I didn't want to drive in the snow.
After I was done getting beautified, we went to the adidas outlet store and did a few other errands. We made plans with John's friend Fabian from adidas and met up with him for a late sushi dinner in Nürnberg around 8:30. After dinner, he took us to a bar close by where we enjoyed some drinks and met up with another girl John works with and a few of her friends. It was a cool place with good music that had a good beat but was not too loud. I still couldn't hear anything that was being said, but that is just me. We stayed until about midnight, then we headed home and went to bed.
Today is going to be a day filled with relaxing! I need to get some work done on my paper because it is due next week and we have some cleaning to do around the house, but other than that it is a day for having our feet up and doing nothing!
