I finally got my computer set up so that the photos from my phone transfer to my iPhoto. Hopefully that will help me stay on track better with posting.
Sammy turned 1 month old on June 15th! We did not have a 1 month checkup at the pediatrician, but I took her in at 4 weeks because of a little cold and she weighed 9 pounds 9 ounces at that point. I think we are officially out of newborn clothes and onto 3 months! Grace has always been super tiny so her clothing size typically matches her age. She was not in 3 month clothes until she was literally 3 months old, so I am having to get used to have a baby that is not a complete peanut. Sammy is a great eater and packing on the pounds like a champ!
Comparison of Grace and Sammy at 1 month
Eating: She still pretty much only nurses on one side at a time and she's fast. She will typically eat for anywhere from 6-10 minutes and then she's done. Lucky me! We introduced bottles when she turned 1 month old and she took to them nicely. Even though she doesn't need to use bottles until I go back to work, it's better to get her used to them early on. Also, if she'll take a bottle that means John and I can have date night every once in awhile this summer!
Sleeping: Sleep patterns are a little more consistent now. Sammy typically goes to sleep between 8 and 9. She cuddles on one of us while we watch TV and I usually put her in her crib for the night around 10 when I go to bed. She has started to do a 4-5 hour stretch since her last feeding, so she typically wakes up again between 2 and 3. If she eats right before I go to bed that means a decent amount of sleep for mama! She wakes again to eat around 5 or 5:30 and each time she eats she goes right back to sleep. She does a few good long naps during the day, but has started to increase her awake time and will stay alert for about an hour at a time a few times throughout the day. She has started to smile a little bit and looks around. She is still sleeping in the Pack N Play in our room, but I am thinking of transitioning her to the crib in her room soon.
Likes: bath time, sleeping on our chest, being outside
Dislikes: ?? She is a very even tempered little baby so I can't really say there is anything she dislikes!
Talents: holding her head up when she lays on Daddy
Celebrity Impersonations
Deep Thinking
Funny Faces
Grace continues to be a great big sister. Her awesomeness is a whole other post because she continues to amaze us daily with how incredibly smart she is. She is so articulate for being only 2 years old and she is at such a fun age.
