I definitely owe some photos of our trip to CT, but I wanted to post about something fun we just did. Jill encouraged me to check out story time at our local library, so I took Grace this morning. It was great! Considering it's completely free, it really was a great toddler activity. The children's librarian was wonderful. She did several songs to start, then read a story to the kids, then passed out board books to everyone so each mom/dad could read to their kiddo, then she did bubbles. I had forgotten about the awesome Gymboree bubble blower and now I want one! It blows tons of tiny bubbles at once. Grace was her typical discerning self, but she liked being with all the other kids and I think once she gets used to it, she will like songs/stories more. She definitely isn't shy- was right up close to the book instead of sitting on my lap. But, the good thing is that there are rules for the parents (no snacks out, no side conversations, phones off etc.), but the kids can pretty much roam the room during the activities. Grace liked one song the best because I had to lift her up in the air, but we did so many I can't remember the words! She is very into books these days, so I think this will be a great activity for us and maybe we'll start to check books out of the library for her.
There is also a playground right across from the library and it was a good one for Grace. She climbed up the steps and checked things out. We still do the slides together, but there is a pretty small one that she can probably do on her own. She said "no" today though.
