15 months

Grace had her 15 month check up yesterday. Her current stats are:

weight: 19 pounds 9 ounces
height: 30.25 inches

She's a peanut.

She is hitting all of her milestones and the doctor actually said that developmentally she is more on par with 18-24 months.

Right now Grace loves pretending that she is talking on the phone and has some good conversations that always start with "hi" and end with "bye." Any time the real phone rings she goes nuts and wants it, so I let her talk to John and Jill on the phone. She responds to their questions with gibberish, but it's like she gets that she wants to have a conversation. She also is very fond of pressing the buttons on our new house phone because they beep.

She is also very into purses. I brought down several of my old purses that I don't use anymore and Grandma Sandy got her a small purse in CT. She loves to put one on each shoulder and in order to keep them from slipping off, she puts her hands on her head. Then she takes off with her grocery cart to shop around the house.

She loves shoes (gets that from Daddy) and likes to try on both mom and dad's shoes. She knows that she needs to wear shoes when we go outside so anytime I mention going outside or going on a walk she says "shoes" and goes to her bucket of shoes to get some out. She is very pumped about the new tiger striped shoes Daddy brought her. Stylish already.

She is also really into books. She likes to pick a book and then back herself up and plop down on my lap or John's lap so we can read to her. She likes to point to things on the pages that she knows. Her favorites right now are the Spot books because she likes to lift the flaps, but she still rips them. I cringe every time, but I'm trying to teach her not to rip books.

I tried to make a list of all the words she can say, so I want to include it because writing things down is the only way I will ever remember in order to tell Grace about what she was like when she was little. So far she can say:
mama, mommmm (lots of emphasis on the last sound), daddy, shoes, cheese, ba (cup/bottle), stroller, bear, George, Jill, ball, tree, pool, hi, bye, and belly.
She also tries to say book, blanket and pillow.
She knows lots of animals sounds including cow, lion, sheep, dog, cat, snake, bee, bear, and duck

She can identify nose, hair, eyes, ears, belly, toes

And, she still loves George
