I am so behind in blogging, but now that I have some more free time on my hands, hopefully I will be better about updating! This post has been in my drafts since April.
April was a pretty busy month for Team Toppel
Grace turned 1 on April 7th! She is walking all over the place and is just a busy little girl. She knows what she wants and will tell you all about it. Her funniest new habit is talking on the phone. She will pick up anything (iphone, remote control, sock, book), hold it to her ear and say "hello, hi." or sometimes "hi dada" or "hi Orge (George). She then proceeds to order around the person on the other end of her call, while walking around the room and holding said item to her ear as if she is on a very important call. Silly girl. We went in for her year check up on April 29th and she weighed a whopping 18 pounds 12 ounces (little peanut girl). She is 29.25 inches tall and Dr. Collins said she "loves her physique" (aka her jelly rolls). Grace says a lot of words, but her most common is her doggy bark ruh-ruh-ruh when she sees a dog or when she looks outside. April was a pretty busy month for Team Toppel
I'm ONE!
We closed on a new house on April 19th and moved in on April 25th. Margaret came out to help us unpack and we went pretty much non-stop for three days. We are excited to be in a new neighborhood. I am excited for a slightly shorter commute. And, we are enjoying our new space!
I successfully defended my dissertation on April 24th and so I am officially Dr. Toppel. I had some revisions to my manuscript based on the feedback of my committee, I submitted my final copy on May 21st and that means I am done! We moved literally the day after I defended, so life is just now starting to settle down. I am re-learning what to do with free time.
John made me some cool shoes ;0)
I only have two more weeks of school after this week and then it's officially summer!
