Vancouver

A few weekends ago Over a month ago, we drove up to Vancouver, BC and Grace had her first international experience. I had a grading day on Friday, so we are allowed to sign out and work from home. Grace went to daycare for a few hours in the morning, I finished up my progress reports, and then we packed up the car and headed out around noon. Jill came with us and it was great to have her as a travel companion 1. because we love her and 2. because she stayed with Grace one evening so John and I could have an amazing sushi dinner at Tojos.

We stopped in Seattle on the way up and enjoyed lunch as Salumi, which is owed by Mario Battali's father. It was a tiny, crowded little place with family style tables. We were lucky to get seats and enjoyed some great salami sandwiches. We lucked out and had great weather on Saturday so we enjoyed some shopping and sightseeing. We did a ton of walking and took note of the plethora of Starbucks (one on almost every block) so we could pop in for a hot drink when we got too chilly. Sunday was a bit rainy and a lot colder, but we enjoyed some time at the aquarium so Grace could see some fish and other creatures. She loved looking at everything. On Monday we stopped in Seattle on the way back for some fabulous mac and cheese at Beechers, which is right across from Pike's Place Market.

My writing is lacking so here are some photo highlights.
