6 months

Based on the fact that my last post was when Grace turned 5 months, it's pretty obvious that I have not posted in a looooong time. I guess that's a result of being a working dissertating mama. Life has been busy, but I am finding that working half time is absolutely the perfect balance because I am productive and teachery in the morning and then I get to play with my sweet girl in the afternoons. Grace stays at daycare until 12:30 pm 3 days a week and then she stays until 3 pm on Mondays and Thursdays so I can have some time to work on my dissertation. If the plan is to be finished by May/June, then I need to keep the momentum in making progress.

Back to Miss Grace. John and I can hardly believe that our little baby is SIX months old. All parents say that time flies, but it's hard to believe just how fast. Grace is really developing her own personality and it's so much fun to watch her grow and see her new tricks.

I'm glad that I was actually able to capture some smiles this month! Grace continues to be very happy and smiley with us at home and with people she knows (like Jill) but she is very skeptical when we are out and about and she just observes everything very seriously. She can now roll from front to back and back to front and is experimenting with some solids. So far she has eaten avocado,   baby cereal, squash, sweet potato and peas. I think the squash was her favorite judging from the big smiles and mmmmm's coming with every bite. She loves to sit in her high chair and look at her books and she is definitely eager to eat even if she's not so sure about the taste of what we give her.

We took her to Jenny and Stella's wedding the last weekend in September and she did great. She slept well on both flights and slept in the Ergo during most of the reception.

I will try to update more frequently!
