Based on Martin's advice, we stayed the night at a cute little hotel in Austria called Hotel Goldene Rose. There was a wedding reception going on so we got a little taste of what their celebrations are like and it sounded like they really knew how to party. At one point during our dinner, which was in a separate area of the restaurant than the wedding dinner, the entire group came through dancing in a conga line.
I didn't take any photos at dinner, but I think John may have. The food was great! John had some Kasespaetzle and I ordered something based on the fact that I saw it came with roasted potatoes and creamed spinach. The main part was some kind of meat in a broth with vegetables that they served to me from a pan on a hot plate. John's meal was also given to him in the frying pan. We also had some soft warm bread and beef carpacchio prior to our meal.
After dinner we went on a nice long walk and enjoyed our surroundings. It was so beautiful and the views were great!
Everything in this little town was closed as of about 6:00 when we arrived, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. We sat in the bar with the ipad and a book and just relaxed. On Sunday morning we got up and enjoyed a buffet breakfast, where some of the meal choices actually required us to cook ourselves. We had some difficulty with the hard boiled egg making station, but everything else was yummy.
The views on the drive home were so great that we stopped a couple of times to take pictures. The roads were super windy and we passed over 100 people on motorcycles. There were people laying out in the sun by the water and canoeing as well. What a beautiful place to live!
It was so nice to have a little weekend getaway together since I only have one more full weekend here before I leave for Portland. On the way home, we stopped at the Dachau Memorial site and that was intense but really interesting. I didn't take a lot of photos, but I will post those next.

What town are you in? It is beautiful! Glad you made it over here. Love me some kasespätzle! (I felt the same at Dachau.)
