9 months later....

I can still remember taking the first pregnancy test while we were on vacation in Venice. It wasn't a super clear line so it took awhile for it to sink in that we were actually going to have a baby. Nine months of being pregnant certainly went by fast and I feel really lucky to have had a fairly easy and positive experience being pregnant. I do regret not writing more about the experience while it was happening, but I will try to be better about keeping up the blog once we have our little bundle to feature in lots of  photos for the grandmas and grandpas. It's so odd that a pregnancy is stamped with a "due date" yet in truth that really is not a true representation of when the pregnancy ends and the day is likely to go by without the blessed event actually happening.

Today is my official due date, but I have the feeling Grace does not have coming out on her agenda. If she's anything like me she will be a person who does things in her own time, so I'd be willing to bet that it will be a few more days before the big reveal.

But, in other news, we got the keys back to our house this morning so that is a pretty good consolation prize in the event we don't get our baby today.

The house looks great. The tenants did a very thorough job cleaning and it truly seems to be in the same condition it was when we left. It was fun to do the walk through and "rediscover" all of the nice changes we made prior to moving. I was impressed all over again with our kitchen, the basement, the bathrooms etc. We are really excited to get back in there! Jason will start demolition and work on Monday :0)

I told John he needed to take a picture of me in Grace's room. Her nursery will get a fresh coat of pain in a new color and we can't wait to finish it off with her nice crib and accessories.  We chose a light brown color for the walls that goes with her pink and brown crib bedding.

After going through the house we had a nice lunch at our local New Seasons and then hit up Babies R Us for 1 final purchase. We hadn't yet gotten the fitted sheets that go into the Pack N Play so we picked up two of those and headed home for a restful afternoon. The sun is actually out in Portland today, so hopefully we'll get out for a long walk this afternoon. I think of all the "tricks" to get labor started walking truly is the one that works best. I walked for 45 minutes on the treadmill at the adidas gym earlier and some more this afternoon will be good.

Now, I think it's time for a little Saturday afternoon nap :0)
